IOOF Community Offer
Leading Advice announces offer of free financial guidance for those facing financial hardship due to COVID-19
Leading Advice is stepping up to support the local community by offering free financial guidance to everyday Australians who have fallen on tough times during the COVID-19 crisis.
The offer is part of a nation-wide initiative by one of Australia’s largest financial services companies, IOOF. Co-sponsoring practices, like Leading Advice are offering their expertise and donating financial guidance to their local communities over a three-month period. IOOF anticipates this will see more than 50,000 hours of free guidance provided to people across Australia to help them get back on their feet.
Gerard Haskew from Leading Advice said:
“As a financial adviser in Gladesville, I have seen firsthand the impact the current COVID-19 crisis has had on those in the community – from young professionals, small businesses and families.
“Many people are facing tough decisions they may not have had to consider prior to this pandemic – for instance, should they access their super early or take a mortgage holiday – and they want to understand the long-term consequences of these decisions on their financial future.
The offer gives local Gladesville/Ryde community members who have been financially impacted by COVID-19 the chance to sign up for a free one-on-one consultation.
To register interest, by contact Leading Advice at 9879 5055 or visiting their website and registering your interest there.
IOOF Chief Executive Renato Mota said: “This is very much a grassroots initiative, going directly to those who need help and support and who need it now.
“With more than 3.5 million Australians currently enrolled in the JobKeeper scheme, and more than 1 million on JobSeeker, many Australians have clearly found themselves under duress because of this pandemic. They need help to understand the best way to plan for and protect their financial future.
As part of the initiative, IOOF has also created a dedicated website (ioof.com.au/community) featuring a range of educational videos and fact sheets, covering topics including JobKeeper, JobSeeker, tax deductions and working from home, small business stimulus measures and the early access to super scheme, as well as general wellbeing and self-care topics.
